Best of Bhutan

For centuries Bhutan remained closed to the outside world, it is the only Buddhist Kingdom on earth and a treasure trove of spectacular scenery and unique cultural traditions.  Do join us and be among the few privileged to enter the land of Peaceful Dragon - Bhutan.

A breathtaking flight east from Kathmandu through the Himalaya to Paro, a journey back in time, begins this adventure. An exploration of the historic Paro valley which includes visits to the 7th Century Kyichu Temple, ruined and brooding Drukgyel Dzong, a hike to the mystical Tigers' Nest and the National Museum in the Ta-Dzong, then it's time for a fascinating trek to Thimphu, the tiny Himalayan nation's capital.

Paro to Thimphu
Views of mighty Chomalhari, fertile, silent valleys, dwarf rhododendron forests and yak herders mark every step of the way. Descend through forests of blue pine to Thimphu, hot showers and a hearty dinner. A full day of sightseeing shows you the memorial Chorten, Zilukha temple, the National Handicraft and Painting School and Emporium, Tashichhodzong and colourful local culture.. From Doupchula Pass, Bhutan's highest peak, Gankhar Punsum-the White Glacier of the Spiritual Brothers-beckons, along with other snow-capped pinnacles Then it's back to prosperous, bustling Paro, famous for its red rice.
