I first met Suman when he led our 14-day trek through the Annapurna Sanctuary many years ago – an experience that was one of the highlights of my life! His manner of caring for us (individuals and group),  the local people, and, in particular, the team of porters, will always remain in my memory.

In 2011, I delighted in being offered an opportunity to return to Nepal to work. Prior to beginning work, I wanted to take some time to enjoy a well-needed rest. I called on Suman for recommendations. He suggested I stay – for 4 days - at Namo Buddha Resort, in the Kavre region of Nepal.

On visiting the resort’s website, I was awed by its beauty. However, nothing prepared me for the surprise that greeted me on arrival. Even in a rain shower, Namo Buddha Resort is a little slice of heaven! (As I am writing, I actually want to keep the place a secret so no one will ever go there!). For 4 days, I was nurtured – body, mind and soul – by mountain scenery, birds chirping, bees buzzing, butterflies fluttering, beautiful homemade organic food (centrally all grown there) and wonderful Nepali-German hospitality. Surendra, Ingrid, Rudi and the hand-picked staff were there to meet my every need.

Built in a traditional Nepali style, my house was completely and utterly romantic. (It was a shame I was there on my own!) Every morning I woke to stillness, flung open the shutters (at 5a.m.!) to try and view the sunrise, then rested for a few more hours before ambling to the main house for a hearty breakfast. Then I took a morning walk, opted for light reading, writing – or whatever took my fancy. I ate lunch when I felt like it. Every evening I watched the sunset from the loft windows, knowing my beloved Annapurna Sanctuary was just over the hills.

Danyabad  Suman for sending me to a place of dreams.

Namaste Suman,

As part of Romanian tradition, around holiday season we make a brief summary of the year that was….to reflect, to appreciate, to share and to plan for the future.

By far the greatest achievement of my year (maybe of my whole life) was attempting and conquering the Annapurna Trek.

I came to visit Nepal with a daring dream, to achieve the almost unthinkable - for me.

With sincere thanks to you Suman and also to the exceptional company of our fellow trekkers, Helene, Julie, Wayne and Lars….your support and encouragement carried and lifted me to the top of those mountains. To witness the sunrise on Poon Hill.

There are no photos, movies, nor words… nothing… that could replicate the magic of my personal encounter with the Himalaya.

The treasures of Nepalese culture, the warmth of the people and the beauty of the unspoiled all created such a unique experience.

I urge everyone, no matter what sacrifices are required, to try it, to do it and to be proud of it.

Thank you again Suman for your support and belief in me.

I wish you, your family, our fantastic porters, the drivers and those partners associated with your tours, a prosperous New Year and progress fully towards 2011 with peace and love.

Nameste Suman,

Warmest greetings from Australia....I'm home again but all those fantastic memories created along our trek have not faded.

It was an incredible lifetime experience; but also it was a time of personal challenge and satisfying achievement.

Upon reflection, I am humbled by might of the Annapurna, yet proud to know "I did it!!"

.... thank you so much for caring for our group as a whole, yet encouraging each of us individually to succeed.

I am contented with my Nepalese experience but cannot wait to take the challenge again in September 2011.

See you on the trek!!

Namaste Suman,

On behalf of Julie and I, Merry Christmas and an exciting 2011.   Thank you once again for taking us on a remarkable trek through Nepal.   The memories will stay with us forever. Although the photo album is beautiful they don't exceed the experience.  The highlight of the trek was your company together with G1,Supa,Cheering and especially Kalsang.  I would and have recommended the trek to friends and especially you as their guide.

Love   Wayne & Julie.
