Trip Grading

Trip Grading

With our simple grade symbol system you can choose your ideal trips and adventure that suits you. Due to the fact that the terrain, lengths of day, altitude and weather conditions of some particular trips are necessarily changeable, these grades system can only provide general indication.  We have devised these grading systems as clear as possible.  To gain the full knowledge of the trip you desire, please therefore read the associated trip dossier to understand the trip.  And if you have any queries about the nature of a particular trip or its suitability for you, please contact us.  We will be happy to help you.

Leisurely

Do not require any prior experience or fitness. Optional activities.

Easy

Do not require physical fitness as long as you have the desire to go.  Sightseeing in the cities , towns , historic palaces and monasteries etc., with a short hike in the surrounding hills, which is optional.

Moderate

Fun and exciting. More remote country and 5 to 6 hour a day. Relatively low-altitude trek crossing passes of no more than 3000m.

Challenging

You need to have a lot of enthusiasm as the trek is generally up to 6 consecutive day walking through wild country including a pass at around 4000m.  You need to be reasonably in good physical condition.  If you are doing fitness activities like jogging, skiing or gym, you will definitely enjoy these treks.

Strenuous

Adventurous and challenging. Involves crossing high passes above 4500 to 5500m. Occasionally more than 7 days consecutive walking, but all trek days have rest days interspersed. Each trek crosses at least one pass of over 5000m. Visiting very remote part of the country. Camping for several nights in extreme conditions. Prior experience is essential.Ideal for adventure seekers.
